Words to Remember:
Mass Media: communication (newspapers, radio, and television) that is designed to reach the mass of people
Public Sphere: The virtual space where people can interact (ex: World Wide Web)
Convergence:the conversion of all types of media
Critique:a detailed evaluation of someone else's work
Question:How, according to the authors, does the digital culture change our media paradigm since the advent of "Mass Media?"
In the chapter, "Mass Media", digital culture did change our media paradigm.Just as Katie had said in her blog that "mass media has become more accessible to the general population". More people are informed about the news that goes on today or new showings. Everyday we use some sort of technology for example, our alarm clocks (which alarms us with the news everyday), televisions, computers, or the ipod (itune, iphone, itouch). Since media is more accessible than when mass media was introduced in the nineteenth century, there are varieties of views that can be expressed and formed. No one can escape from the media since it is integrated into our everyday life.
Mass Media is a way of communication of different views and interests to the mass. Since we are exposed everyday, there are lots critiquing involved especially in the public circle which will open up our horizons on what is going on our world today
